Sandy Cove Hotel sits perched above the North Devon cliffs near Combe Martin, and the views from this extraordinary coastal venue are genuinely breathtaking — sweeping across the Bristol Channel to the Welsh hills on a clear day, with the rugged Devon coastline stretching in both directions. Lauren and Dale’s day began with preparations in the hotel’s beautiful rooms, the sound of the sea audible even indoors and the coastal light quality that only comes from being right on the cliff edge. Lauren’s bridal party filled the room with warmth and laughter, while Dale and his groomsmen made the most of the spectacular terrace. From the very first moments, this felt like a wedding that was going to be something special.

The ceremony — with those extraordinary coastal views as a backdrop — was intimate, moving and completely personal. Lauren and Dale’s vows were heartfelt and the room was silent for every word. Venues like Sandy Cove amplify every emotion and give even the quietest moments a sense of scale and significance.

Couple portraits along the clifftop and in the hotel’s terraced gardens gave us some of the most dramatic frames of the entire season. The late afternoon coastal light, the sea breeze and two people completely lost in each other made for a portfolio of images we’re enormously proud of.
