Boringdon Hall is one of the South West’s grandest and most historic wedding venues — a Grade II listed Tudor manor house set in its own grounds near Plympton, just outside Plymouth in Devon. The venue combines centuries of history with genuinely luxurious modern facilities, and the result is a setting that feels simultaneously dramatic and deeply welcoming. As a Boringdon Hall Devon wedding photographer, we love the way the building’s extraordinary architecture — stone arches, mullioned windows and panelled rooms — creates natural frames at every turn.

Rhiannon and Barney’s morning preparations set a tone of relaxed elegance that carried through the entire day. Rhiannon got ready in one of Boringdon’s beautiful bridal suites, surrounded by her closest friends and family, while Barney and his groomsmen enjoyed the run of the venue’s grounds in the bright Devon morning light. The contrast between the opulent indoor spaces and the natural beauty of the grounds gave us wonderful variety right from the start.

The ceremony — held in Boringdon Hall’s beautiful licensed ceremony space — was intimate, moving and completely personal. Rhiannon’s walk down the aisle, Barney’s reaction, the quiet in the room — these are the frames that matter most, and the setting gave them a backdrop worthy of the occasion.

The gardens and grounds of Boringdon Hall are beautiful for couple portraits at any time of year, and Rhiannon and Barney moved through them with a naturalness and ease that made our job a genuine pleasure.
