TRAVELLING FAR & WIDE

is my biggest passion in life

Chycara Cornwall wedding –

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful Chycara Cornwall wedding just outside Truro.

Chycara is one of those venues that feels tucked away from the world, surrounded by woodland and lakes, yet still easy to reach for guests coming from across Cornwall. It’s a perfect setting for couples who want a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of space to celebrate.

The day started with morning preparations in the venue’s cottages, which give a cosy and homely feel. With natural light streaming through the windows, it made for great candid photography – exactly the kind of real, unposed moments I love to capture.

The ceremony took place in Chycara’s beautiful pagoda,on it’s own little island. Afterward, everyone moved outside to enjoy drinks on the lawns, making the most of the September sunshine. The grounds at Chycara offer a mix of woodland paths, lakes and open gardens, ideal backdrops for couple portraits without having to wander too far from the party.

The bouncy castle kept the kids (and the adults!) entertained while we took Tania and Wayne off for some photos around the lakes and “dinosaur rhubarb” (not the technical name).

As the evening got going, the barn-style reception area came alive with speeches, food, and plenty of laughter. The open space worked brilliantly for dancing later on, and I was able to capture the energy and fun of the dance floor well into the night, with a pair of singers entertaining guests, followed by a DJ.

Being a Cornwall wedding photographer, I know how important it is to have a venue that works whatever the weather – and Chycara definitely delivers. With indoor and outdoor options, couples don’t have to worry about last-minute changes.

If you’re planning your own Chycara Cornwall wedding, it’s a venue that offers flexibility, character, and a great backdrop for photography.
