Some of our favourite weddings are the relaxed, intimate ones — and Katie and Ryan’s day was Cornwall at its very best. A beautiful ceremony at Dalvenie House, Truro’s registry office, then a drive out to the wild St Agnes coastline for portraits, before celebrating with everyone at the Tricky’s Redruth wedding reception. Three very different backdrops, one brilliant day.

The Ceremony at Dalvenie House, Truro Registry Office
Don’t let anyone tell you a registry office wedding can’t be special. The ceremony room at Dalvenie House is a lovely, light-filled space, and Cornwall’s celebrant registrars have a real knack for making a civil ceremony feel personal rather than procedural.

With just their closest family and friends around them, Katie and Ryan’s ceremony was intimate in the best possible way — every person in that room mattered to them.

Couple Portraits on the St Agnes Coast
This is why you get married in Cornwall. After the ceremony we headed out to St Agnes, where the coastline did what the Cornish coastline does — cliffs, sea, and that late June light.

This is where our relaxed approach to wedding photography earns its keep. No stiff posing against a hedge — just the two of them, newly married, wandering one of the most beautiful stretches of coast in the country while we captured it naturally.
The Reception at Tricky’s, Redruth
Then it was on to Tricky’s at the Tolgus Inn, where the Garden Room was ready and waiting. It’s a cracking reception venue — a bright, modern space with a vaulted ceiling, its own bar, and French doors opening onto the landscaped gardens and gazebo, which gave us lovely golden-hour options as the evening went on.

Congratulations, Katie & Ryan!
Thank you both for having us along to capture your day. From the registry office in Truro to the St Agnes cliffs and a proper party at Tricky’s, it was an honour to document it all — and we hope these photographs bring back all the joy of 27 June for many years to come.
